Our Projects

Inclusive Recovery Cities

A recovery city is a place which promotes visible recovery, challenges stigmatising and discriminatory attitudes and champions multiple pathways to addiction recovery. However, it is also based on the idea that, through doing this, the whole city will grow and benefit.

Community Connector Training

Community Connectors are individuals, mainly but not exclusively in recovery, who act as ‘human bridges’ to support recovery journeys. Community Connectors actively champion and promote connections to organisations across their local area.

Evaluation of RecoveryWorks

STAR has been delighted to partner with Recovery Works, a specialist recovery and employment programme, based in Massachusetts General Hospital, and a part of Harvard Medical School. Our role has been to evaluate and consult on the unique and innovative programme that they offer around supporting people in recovery back into employment and continuing to provide support for up to five years as a core part of sustaining individuals’ recovery journeys.

Evaluation of Family Services

Another exciting project that we have been working on recently is a full evaluation of PROPS Family Recovery Services. PROPS is a recognised charity offering a wide range of support to carers trying to navigate the addiction of a relative.
